The purpose of this wiki is to provide tutorials, tips and tricks, teaching ideas, and classroom management ideas for using ActivInspire and ActivExpressions in the classroom. This wiki will replace handouts (*see note at the bottom of this page). It is my hope to be able to add some videos of some of our very own teachers using the Promethean boards with students. When teachers ask 'how to' do something on ActivInspire or with the ActivExpressions, I'll try to post the answer here so others can benefit from that information also. Please let me know if you have questions or if you'd like a specific tutorial added to this wiki. You can ask questions or leave comments by choosing the discussion tab.
The latest version of ActivInspire will be found in your Self Service App. If you are having some funky things going on in Inspire check for updates. You can do so by opening ActivInspire, on the dashboard choose configure. Then click on 'check for updates'. When a new version of any software comes out there are often 'bugs' in it. The updates are designed to fix those bugs. That's why it's important to update every now and then. Email me if you need a serial number. If you just received a brand new board the serial number is on the sticker. Occasionally you should check for updates.
Very INSPIRING Podcasts! Go to the iTunes Music Store and subscribe to Promethean ActivTips. These are excellent videos on how to use many of the features in ActivInspire.
Get Inspired!
Watch how teachers in the UK and the US have used ActivInspire and ActivExpressions to make a difference in their classrooms.
*I realize that some of you like to have handouts. I agree that it's nice to have them so you can add your own notes. You can print the pages from this wiki for your notes. In the upper right hand corner click on the ellipses (...). Choose Print. This will give you a clean page so you don't have all the fufu (foofoo?) around the edges.

There are several ways to use your board. To get started choose any ONE of the ways that you feel is right for you. Keep practicing and start involving your students. Eventually you'll be very familiar with each one. The last one is the most advanced and should be left until you are comfortable with #1-5.
#1. Interactive Websites and Subscriptions
#2. Software on your Computer
#3. Whiteboard with Tools
#4. Using FlipCharts from Promethean Planet
#5. Recycling FlipCharts
#6. Creating Your Own FlipCharts
